We came to Mountain View RV intending to stay a week and visit Devils Tower. When we arrived, they offered us a chance to work camp for a month so we changed our plans and stayed for 30 days in exchange for helping out around the park. As a result, I can’t say my review is entirely unbiased.

The Details
Mountain View RV is located a short distance from Sundance Wyoming, the place that gave the western outlaw The Sundance Kid, his nickname. From here you can visit Devils Tower, Badlands, and Black Hills national parks/monuments. It is not especially close to the parks but they are within driving distance for a day trip.
Mountain View is a medium-to-small park set in the rolling hills and grasslands of Wyoming. The grounds are well kept and attractive but not spectacular. About half the lots have shade trees while the others have saplings still coming up. The sites themselves are fairly large and easy to access providing plenty of room between RVs.
Park Wifi is about average. The signal is strong throughout the park but the line becomes overwhelmed in the evening and service becomes slow and choppy. The Park offers a laundry, a small game room (pool and table tennis), and a pool that is just big enough to do some swimming (about 30′ long and up to 9″ deep).
Where Mountain View stands out is how well kept it is. I didn’t agree to work camp here until I had a look at the bathrooms. They were very clean and in good working order when I arrived. Of course for the next month, one of our duties was to keep them that way. They are cleaned thoroughly every day including anti-bacterial treatment for all the showers. It’s the way it should be done. The other amenities of the park are likewise well cared for and in good condition. The proprietor shows great attention to the details here.
The park has a few resident rabbits as well, which are quite cute, though not if you ask Trail. She’s allergic to rabbits so what I find cute, she refers to as Evil. Fortunately, they kept their distance from her so she didn’t have any problems. You might even enjoy their company.
The price is higher than we normally like to pay, but it’s clear the owners don’t skimp on equipment and maintenance so I think it is a fair price if not an outright bargain. I’d give Mountain View a solid recommendation as a very nice and clean place to stay while visiting Devils Tower or the other nearby attractions.
By the way: If you are looking to buy an RV park, at the time I’m posting this, the owners are looking to sell and retire. You can contact them through their website linked above.
