Hello. I’ve not written on the blog before. My name is Kia, or more properly High Honeybear Princess Kia Thisledew the Silky-Soft. I am a cat you know, a tabby-co, one of the best kinds I assure you. Since Hitch is asleep I am finally able to use this keyboard uninterrupted and let you know how things are going.
I was dubious of this entire enterprise right from the start, not that anyone would listen. Quiet peaceful lounging gave way to noisome hustle and bustle. Slowly but surely all the nice hiding spots began to disappear. Kekovar, that coward, was out of his mind with all the strangers coming trough. I managed to keep my cool but when the bed was taken, well that was something of a shock. Where will the dust bunnies go? I worry for them.
There was that first car trip. I thought for sure it was another trip to the hospital, all that poking and prodding; but no, just went on and on and no clear reason for it. I’ve gotten used to them now, get in the box, then sit and wait it out. It all seems so unnecessary and so noisy, all that rumbling and lurching about.
Mind you I enjoyed exploring some of the places we stayed before the shiny place. They smelled different and there were so many new places to look for shadow creatures, and they were typically very quiet. I liked that. I even made a few new friends. Both the man with all the wires and the man with all the books had many wonderful hiding places in their homes.
The shiny place, well that is my home now. It is… on the small side, and every area has one of those noisy light boxes, I don’t like that at all. Shadow creatures are best hunted in silence, that way I can hear them thinking. The under-bed region of this place is quite nice. It has so many small places fatty Kekovar can’t follow me into. I’ve seen even more under the cabinets and couches, if only Trail and Hitch would leave them open for me.
No shadow creature is safe while I am on guard, that’s for sure!
Lately, Trail and Hitch started playing a new noise making device. It looks like a stick but it makes music. It’s strange, normally I don’t like noise but I like the new music stick. I just want to climb in their lap when I hear it, perhaps get a few pets in the process. Too bad they need both hands to make the music.
I like that the scenery changes beyond the door here. So many things to see and smell. Sometimes there are many birds; they intrigue me. Kekovar says we will fall into the sky if we go out there, I’m not so sure. I’ve only been able to go out once, Hitch left the door open for me, but he seemed worried when he saw me out. I thought I might be starting to fall so I went under the shiny place just in case. It seemed safe enough but Hitch seemed sure of the danger and I went back inside.
They go out there all the time however. I think it might be a conspiracy, keeping all the birds for themselves perhaps? I’m just not sure. I’ll wait and see what happens, or perhaps petition the shadow creature king for an audience, he knows all kinds of things and I have a few prisoners he might want in exchange!
